A partnership with Global Partners in Improving Surgical Systems in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Medical College of Wisconsin,USA.

The purpose of this program is to provide a local Ethiopian health professional graduate with an opportunity to conduct mentored scholarly activities in the field of Global Surgery research.

Eligible to apply:

• • • Health professional students who have graduated from their final year of clinical rotations (C2)

Time Period:

• • • June 1 – July 31 for 8 weeks total, 40 hours per week

Potential Areas of Study:

• • • Prehospital system evaluation and improvement
    • Perioperative data quality
    • Trauma system assessment
    • Enhanced Recovery After Surgery
    • Quality improvement – trauma and perioperative care

Deliverables:

• • • Presentation at the final of the research block
    • One abstract for conference submission
    • Co-authorship on at least one manuscript
    • Potential for additional abstracts and manuscripts if ongoing commitment
