Ethio-USA Global Surgery Research Scholar Program
A partnership with Global Partners in Improving Surgical Systems in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Medical College of Wisconsin,USA.
The purpose of this program is to provide a local Ethiopian health professional graduate with an opportunity to conduct mentored scholarly activities in the field of Global Surgery research.

- One-page describing why you are interested in the program, including your proposed area of focus and what you hope to accomplish.
- 2 professional references with contact information.
Eligible to apply:
- Health professional students who have graduated from their final year of clinical rotations (C2)
Time Period:
- June 1 – July 31 for 8 weeks total, 40 hours per week
Potential Areas of Study:
- Prehospital system evaluation and improvement
- Perioperative data quality
- Trauma system assessment
- Enhanced Recovery After Surgery
- Quality improvement – trauma and perioperative care
Deliverables:
- Presentation at the final of the research block
- One abstract for conference submission
- Co-authorship on at least one manuscript
- Potential for additional abstracts and manuscripts if ongoing commitment
Funding:
- $500 USD stipend
